Description
Upgrade bundled Seagate 1TB Hard Disk Drive to 2TB total
(NOTE: This item is not for separate sale but rather is an add-on to a bundled DIY kit.)
Why add capacity?
Choose to upgrade your storage from 1TB to 2, 4 or 10 when you desire longer archive times. Archive total time is dependent on many complicated factors but as a guide note the following scenario examples:
- 1TB storage with 4x 2MP cameras in operation
- Cameras are using H.264 codec in medium quality compression mode
- Cameras record on motion detection 9 hours per day on average
- Cameras are set to record at 12 frames per second
- 1TB total capacity will store 3.3 weeks footage
- 2TB becomes 6.6 weeks storage
- 1TB storage with 4x 2MP cameras in operation
- Cameras are using H.264 codec in high quality compression mode
- Cameras record on motion detection 9 hours per day on average
- Cameras are set to record at 25 frames per second
- 1TB total capacity will store 5.6 days footage
- 2TB becomes 11.2 days storage
- 1TB storage with 4x 2MP cameras in operation
- Cameras are using H.264 codec in medium quality compression mode
- Cameras record 24 hours per day
- Cameras are set to record at 25 frames per second
- 1TB total capacity will store 2.1 days footage
- 2TB becomes 4.2 days storage
- 1TB storage with 4x 2MP cameras in operation
- Cameras are using H.265 codec in medium quality compression mode
- Cameras record 24 hours per day
- Cameras are set to record at 12 frames per second
- 1TB total capacity will store 4.2 days footage
- 2TB becomes 8.4 days storage
Increasing your camera count will reduce the above record archival times and increasing your storage size will increase your archival times.
